Our Roots

The Touchstone story begins about two years ago in a modest home in Wolfeboro, NH. After some college and 12 years in corporate America, Ed became disillusioned with the monotony of office life. After some trying times Ed decided to go back to his roots, as it where. “Growing up, my parents always made me work in the garden during the summer,” recalls Ed. His parents, both from agricultural backgrounds, still own the triple-decker in Massachusetts where Ed grew up. To this day they continue to maintain a small lawn and vegetable garden, making the most of their the back yard. “Of course I didn't always enjoy working with plants and grass. To be honest I thought I was being punished most of the time. But, through all of that my parents were teaching me the value of hard work. They taught me to have a profound respect for the earth and the beauty of watching something grow”. Ed's parents also have a small farm in Ecuador. For years they have been cultivating the earth organically and yielding rich results. “My parents don't know anything but organic. It's not a buzz word to them, it's how my parents and my ancestors before them survived on their farm lands” points out Ed. They have passed this passion on to Ed who now is putting that knowledge and experience to good use.

What brought this Massachusetts native to Wolfeboro? Ed says, “I always knew I would end up living in New Hampshire. My family has a small camp in Wakefield which is about 25 minutes east of Wolfeboro. During the week while I was in school I would always day dream about playing in the woods and fishing with my dad on the lake. After burgers, dogs, and the daily catch it was always such a treat to drive into Wolfeboro for ice cream and then hang out at the town docks. I feel so privileged to be part of this community which is full of fond childhood memories.” Ed, now happily married with two dogs says, “I can't help but be appreciative for everything God has blessed me with. I try to share that with my customers by always providing the highest quality of work. I want people to trust me because I'm here to stay.”

Ed continues to work and live in Wolfeboro, a place his heart has always called 'home'.
